Here's a really nice 1999/2000 Ibanez RG3120 that has been refinished as well as had the pickups swapped for a set of Suhr SSV humbuckers. A great, fast playing guitar that sounds awesome!
Body: The mahogany body with maple top has been refinished with TransTint dyes and StewMac polishing compounds. It's a thin(8 coats)Tru-oil finish that has been polished. It was intentionally done this way so it resonates more and will naturally wear and relic, a process that is occurring nicely. Please note that his is not a factory gloss finish. There are a few smaller bumps and bruises that will happen with a finish like this. Due to the refinish process, there's has been some material removed from the body, and as such it is a little thinner than the standard RG3120.
Neck: The pretty flamed neck was stripped of all gloss down to the wood and then gone over with only one coat of sealer so it's smooth(but protected). This is actually my favorite aspect of the guitar. The feel of this neck is amazing. It's straight as can be, no twists, and the truss rod is good. Frets have plenty of life.
Hardware: The hardware was pitted a bit so parts of it have been replaced and the "powdered" part of the finish was taken off. This actually gives it a cool "comfortably worn" look. It all functions fine. A 37mm brass block has been added and it flutters really well. On a side note, the guitar was delivered to me in 20 degree weather. I let it sit in the box for hours and hours and then in the case along for hours and hours. When I took it out and strummed it, it was in near perfect tune. Amazing.
Pickups: The previous owner installed a new set of Suhr pickups in this guitar. SSH+ 53mm bridge and SSV neck. This guitar can do great Stratty tones to full on humbucker thickness. Liquid lead tones a-plenty!!!!
