Here is a near mint, almost completely unplayed 1983 Les Paul Spotlight Special. This is a special guitar in every way. It has an amazing matched quilted Maple top. The guitar was bought by a collector and put away and never played. There is no fret wear. No playing wear. The finish is just about as mint as it gets. As close to new as you are likely to find out there. But this guitar does play so nicely. I have completely fallen in love with the way it plays and sounds. By far the best Les Paul I have ever come across. If it wasn’t so cherry, I’d keep it for myself. But this thing is too clean for me. The original owner changed the tuners when he got the guitar. He had these tuners on every Les Paul he had. No new holes were drilled for the tuners. The original tuners used 2 screws each and the ones on now only use one. The extra holes were filled. You could easily put back on original tuners without having to modify anything
This is probably the nicest Les Paul Spotlight Special you are ever likely to see. I’ve been into vintage guitars since the early 90’s and this is the first one I’ve had in my hands. I can say without a doubt that it’s the most beautiful looking and playing Les Paul I’ve ever laid my hands on.
